The journey starts from the region of Ruka-Kuusamo in northern Lakeland. The first stop is restaurant Kataja located in the midst of the unique glass villas at Magical Pond. At Kataja, you can try local flavours and admire the surrounding nature and its animals from the wall-to-ceiling windows.

We would like to welcome you to our newly built Lappish Hut Restaurant Kataja. We offer a beautifully served 3-course dinner by a fireplace in an intimate setting. Whilst socialising with your friends and family, you can watch the nature and local wildlife through the amazingly large windows. The architecture follows the same line as our stunning igloos.The dinner starts at 7pm, and it includes the starter, main meal, and the dessert; the price also includes water, tea, and coffee. However, if you wish to have alcoholic drinks, we have a selection of wines, various spirits, and arctic cocktails to enjoy alongside your dishes.

We advise you to make a reservation for dinner well in advance due to limited number of tables. Please inform us of any allergies when booking your meals.

Isokenkäisten Klubi is situated east of Kuusamo, by the peaceful, clear-water Lake Heikinjärvi, only two kilometres from the Russian border zone. The lodges of Isokenkäisten Klubi are completely surrounded by the quiet of the northern nature. 

We welcome you to stay in our Wilderness Hotel Kortteeri or in one of our comfortable log cottages, or to experience an unforgettable night in a floating AuroraHut gazing at the stars or being amazed by the midnight sun during the summer months. During the winter the AuroraHuts are placed on the ice so you can actually do some ice fishing from your bed! If you are lucky, you will get to see the northern lights dancing in the sky.
We invite you to relax in the gentle warmth of our Seven Star Smoke Sauna, take a refreshing dip into the cool lake water, and enjoy traditional Finnish home-cooked meals prepared with fresh, local ingredients. Löydät meidät Kuusamon koskettavan luonnon alkujuurilta, hiljaisen ja puhtaan Heikinjärven rannalta, vain parin kilometrin päässä Venäjän rajavyöhykkeeltä.

Lempeä erämaa ympärillä, raikasta ilmaa keuhkojen täydeltä ja ihanaa rauhaa kaukana kiireestä. Kauniit, vanhat rakennukset kertovat menneiden sukupolvien tarinoita kun juoksutat kättäsi vanhaa hirttä pitkin.

Korouoma is a millions of years old fracture valley in the bedrock

Unforgettable day trip to the Korouoma Canyon & Nature Reserve in Posio, where the mightiest ice falls in Finland are located.

Korouoma is a millions of years old fracture valley in the bedrock. At the center of the valley, it forms a magnificent gorge that drops over a 100 meters below its surrounding terrain. Every winter, 10-20 ice falls are formed, the largest 60-70 meters tall. The mightiest and best known is Ruskea virta (’Brown Stream’). Other classics are Mammutti (’Mammoth’) and Jaska Jokunen (’Charlie Brown’). The ice climbing potential of Korouoma was discovered only in the 1980’s. Nowadays Korouoma is hands-down the best destination for ice climbing in Finland!

Bliss guide will meet the clients in the morning at the agreed place in Rovaniemi, and has prepared and packed all the relevant gear. It is roughly a 1,5 h drive from Rovaniemi to Korouoma, Posio. From the parking area it takes 1-1,5 hours to hike through the beautiful taiga forest to the foot of the ice fall.

Once at the ice fall, the guide will prepare the rope line(s) for safe ice climbing. The clients use this break for having an energizing snack, keeping themselves warm and taking photos and videos of the beautiful venue if they wish.

Once climbing preparations are completed, it is time for the true ice climbing experience in the Arctic! Depending on clients' stamina and daylight hours, every client will get two proper climbs on the nature-made ice wall. Height of the ice wall varies from 20 to 60 meters.

On the way back to parking area – time schedule allowing – it is possible to stop by a bonfire and have another energizing snack. The day get's completed by 1,5 hour drive back to Rovaniemi.

Reindeer yoga at Kujala reindeer farm in Ruka, Kuusamo, Finland 

Reindeer yoga combines the benefits of northern nature, the soothing presence of reindeer, and yoga techniques to balance the body and mind. You will learn a lot about reindeer and living in the north during reindeer yoga. Our outdoor yoga studio at Kujala Reindeer Farm is actually a reindeer fence in the middle of nature. Our walls are the reindeer herd around us and the sky is our ceiling. Nature has always been a place of peace and well-being for people of the north. Now you can experience the same. It's the surrounding nature and its sounds, the quiet moves of the reindeer, and the lilting of the reindeer bells that keep the thoughts straight in this moment. 
The reindeer herders lead us first to the heart of the farm, the reindeer fence. For about an hour, we practice yoga and various nature therapy techniques using reindeer hides as yoga mats. Afterwards, you can visit the farm's handicraft workshop.
Reindeer yoga does not require previous yoga experience, and it is suitable for anyone who likes to feel good and meet the reindeer.
We use reindeer hides as yoga mats, except they are much more than just yoga mats. They're a warm and sheltered space that allows us to experience nature in these arctic conditions, where temperatures can drop to -30C in winter. They're the most ecological and sustainable choice in the north. Reindeer hide is a natural product that has not been treated with harsh chemicals and is a bi-product of reindeer herding.

Rentier-Yoga kombiniert die Vorteile der Natur im hohen Norden, die beruhigende Anwesenheit von Rentieren und Yoga-Techniken, um Körper und Geist in Einklang zu bringen. Beim Rentier-Yoga werden Sie viel über Rentiere und das Leben im Norden lernen. Unser Outdoor-Yoga-Studio ist eigentlich ein Rentierzaun inmitten der Natur. Unsere Wände sind die Rentierherde um uns herum und der Himmel ist unser Dach. Die Natur war für die Menschen des Nordens schon immer ein Ort des Friedens und des Wohlbefindens. Jetzt können Sie dasselbe erleben. Es sind die umgebende Natur und ihre Geräusche, die ruhigen Bewegungen der Rentiere und das Läuten der Rentierglocken, die die Gedanken in diesem Moment aufrecht erhalten. 
Die Rentierzüchter führen uns zunächst zum Herzstück des Bauernhofes, dem Rentierzaun. Etwa eine Stunde lang praktizieren wir Yoga und verschiedene Naturtherapietechniken, wobei wir Rentierfelle als Yogamatten verwenden. Anschließend können Sie die Handwerkswerkstatt des Bauernhofes besuchen.
Für Rentier-Yoga sind keine Yoga-Vorkenntnisse erforderlich. Es ist für jeden geeignet, der sich wohlfühlen und Rentiere treffen möchte.
Wir verwenden Rentierfelle als Yogamatten, aber sie sind viel mehr als nur Yogamatten. Sie sind ein warmer und geschützter Ort, der es uns ermöglicht, die Natur unter diesen arktischen Bedingungen zu erleben, wo die Temperaturen im Winter auf -30 °C fallen können. El yoga con renos combina los beneficios de la naturaleza nórdica, la relajante presencia de los renos y técnicas de yoga para equilibrar el cuerpo y la mente. Durante el yoga con renos aprenderás mucho sobre estos animales y la vida del norte. Nuestro estudio de yoga al aire libre es en realidad una cerca de renos en medio de la naturaleza:  nuestras paredes son la manada de renos que nos rodea y nuestro techo es el cielo. La naturaleza siempre ha sido un lugar de paz y bienestar para la gente del norte y ahora puedes experimentarlo en primera persona. Vive este momento manteniendo la claridad de tus pensamientos gracias a la naturaleza de los alrededores y sus sonidos, los movimientos silenciosos de los renos y la musicalidad de sus campanas. 
Los pastores de renos nos llevarán primero al corazón de la granja, la cerca de renos. Durante aproximadamente una hora, practicaremos yoga y varias técnicas de terapia natural utilizando pieles de reno como esterillas de yoga. Después, podrás visitar el taller artesanal de la granja.
El yoga con renos no requiere experiencia previa en yoga y es apto para cualquier persona a la que le guste sentirse bien y conocer el mundo de los renos.
Utilizamos pieles de reno como esterillas de yoga, pero son mucho más que eso. Son un espacio cálido y protegido que nos permite experimentar la naturaleza en estas condiciones árticas, donde las temperaturas pueden bajar hasta los -30 °C en invierno. Yoga con renos

Le « reindeer yoga », ou yoga renne, combine les bienfaits de la nature nordique, la présence apaisante des rennes et les techniques de yoga pour équilibrer le corps et l’esprit. Vous en apprendrez beaucoup sur les rennes et la vie dans le nord pendant votre séance. Notre studio de yoga en plein air est en fait un champ de rennes au milieu de la nature. Nos murs sont le troupeau de rennes qui nous entoure et notre plafond, le ciel. La nature a toujours été un lieu de paix et de bien-être pour les gens du Nord. Vous pouvez maintenant en faire l’expérience. Vos pensées seront canalisées par la nature environnante et ses sons, les mouvements calmes des rennes et le tintement de leurs cloches. 
Les éleveurs de rennes vous conduiront d’abord au cœur de la ferme, le champ de rennes. Vous pratiquerez le yoga et diverses techniques de thérapie naturelle en utilisant des peaux de rennes comme tapis pendant environ une heure. Vous pourrez ensuite visiter l’atelier d’artisanat de la ferme.
Le yoga renne ne nécessite pas d’expérience préalable en la matière et convient à tous ceux qui sont attirés par le bien-être et souhaitent rencontrer les rennes.
Nous utilisons des peaux de rennes comme tapis de yoga, mais elles sont bien plus que de simples tapis de yoga. Elles constituent un espace chaud et réconfortant qui permet de faire l’expérience de la nature dans ces conditions arctiques, où les températures peuvent descendre jusqu’à -30°C en hiver. C’est le choix le plus écologique et le plus durable dans le Nord. La peau de renne est un produit naturel non traité avec des produits chimiques agressifs. Il s’agit d’un sous-produit de l’élevage des rennes.

Aluksi porotilan väki johdattaa meidät portilta tilan sydämeen, porotarhalle. Opimme uutta asiaa karvanaamaisista joogakavereistamme ja porotilan elämästä. Saatuamme porontaljat joogamatoiksi keskitymme noin tunniksi joogaan ja erilaisiin luontohyvinvointia edistäviin harjoitteisiin. Lopuksi tutustutaan tilan käsityöpajaan ja kauppaan, josta löytyy vaikka mitä porosta.

Porojooga ei vaadi aiempaa joogakokemusta. Se sopii kaikille, jotka tykkäävät hyvästä olosta ja poroista. Kysy myös yksityistä porojoogatuntia omalle porukalle. Jos kaikki porukassanne eivät taivu porojoogaan, osa voi osallistua samaan aikaan Porojen Aamuruokinta -ohjelmaan. 

Ryhmän koko on vähintään 4 henkilöä. Jos ilmoittautuneita ei ole tarpeeksi 24h ennen ohjelman alkua, peruutamme porojoogan. Ilmoitamme peruutuksesta edellisenä iltana klo 18 mennessä tekstiviestillä. Porojooga

Guided Canoeing Trip to Lake Julma-Ölkky

On a guided trip you will hear stories about nature, times gone by and
local history while enjoying the stunning scenery of Hossa. A guided
trip is also a safe choice when starting your first canoe rides.

For a canoeist it is a thrilling experience to face the rugged cliffs of
Julma-Ölkky rising straight up from the surface of the water. Canoeing
is also one of the best ways to view the approximately 4,500-year-old
rock paintings up close.

The canoeing trip to Julma-Ölkky takes 3 hours. A kayak, canoe or
SUP-board can be used.

Weather permitting, the trip will take place on a sunny evening in
smooth weather.

We will make a pause just to admire the sunset and listen to the
silence.

During the outing we will also take a break to have a snack.

The trip is unobstructed. The route to the pier is easy. The pier has barrier-free structures for access to the cayak or kanoe or sup-board.

Julma-ölkyn kanjonijärvi on elämys kokea myös melomalla. Melomalla pääset jylhien kallioseinien viereen ja pääset näkemään noin 4500 vuotta vanhat kalliomaalaukset läheltä.

Julma-Ölkyn melontaretki kestää noin 3 tuntia.  Retki voidaan toteuttaa kajakki- , kanoottikalustolla tai SUP-laudalla.

Järjestämme tämän melontaretken säävarauksella. Toteutamme retket aurinkoisena iltana ja lähes tyynessä säässä.

Retkellä pysähdymme nauttimaan auringon laskusta ja kuuntelemaan hiljaisuutta.

Retken aikana nautimme välipalan.

Retki on esteetön. Julma-Ölkyn rantaan vievä sorapolku on loiva ja laiturilla aputeline vesille pääsyyn kanoottiin, kajakkiin tai sup-laudalle.

Bei einem geführten Ausflug hören Sie Geschichten über die Natur, vergangene Zeiten und die lokale Geschichte und genießen dabei die atemberaubende Landschaft des Hossa-Nationalparks. Auch für die ersten Kanutouren ist eine geführte Tour eine sichere Wahl.

Für einen Kanufahrer ist es ein wunderschönes Erlebnis, sich den schroffen Felswänden von Julma-Ölkky zu stellen, die direkt ins Wasser reichen. Kanufahren ist auch eine der besten Möglichkeiten, die rund 4.500 Jahre alten Felsmalereien aus nächster Nähe zu betrachten.

Die Kanufahrt zum Julma-Ölkky dauert 3 Stunden. Es kann ein Kajak, Kanu oder Stand-Up-Paddling-Board genutzt werden. Sofern das Wetter es zulässt, findet der Ausflug an einem sonnigen und ruhigen Abend statt. Wir machen eine Pause, um den Sonnenuntergang zu bewundern und der Stille zu lauschen. Wir machen auch eine Pause, um einen Snack zu essen.

Der Ausflug ist barrierefrei. Der Weg zum Bootssteg ist einfach. Der Bootssteg verfügt über barrierefreie Strukturen für den Zugang zum Kajak, Kanu oder Stand-Up-Paddling-Board.

Kanutour zum Julma-Ölkky-See bei Sonnenuntergang

The Sámi Museum and Nature Centre Siida is located in the town of Inari, in the Sámi Homeland. Our permanent exhibition, called 'Enâmeh láá mii párnááh – These lands are our children', links Sámi culture and northern nature to one another forming one whole, which offers a vivid and visual experience as well as an abundance of information. The Sámi Museum and the Nature Centre have worked together to produce the permanent exhibition.

Visitors can get a more in-depth and detailed understanding of Siida’s permanent exhibition if they tour the exhibition with a guide. A guided tour will provide more information content and visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions directly from the guide.

Gold Panning Lesson includes the ticket to our exhibitions where starting point is our basic exhibition telling colorful history of gold in Lapland and Finland.

Different stories are related to all bigger nuggets in Finnish gold prospecting history, and a nugget called Aleksi is one example.

A brief introduction to gold panning for beginners! 

At the Gold Museum’s gold panning basin, our guide will show you how to find gold using a traditional gold pan. While you see and experience how gold stays under the sand at the bottom of the pan, you will hear stories and facts from the goldfields. At the end of the lesson, your gold haul is collected and you’ll be a nugget richer! 

Gold panning classes are held at the museum’s indoor gold panning basin, so the programme can be organized regardless of the weather.

The program includes: Guidance, necessary equipment and entrance fee to the Gold Museum. You can keep the Lappish gold you find! 

The duration of the lesson is about 30-45 minutes.

Opas neuvoo Kultamuseon huuhdonta-altaalla, kuinka kultaa huuhdotaan perinteistä huuhdontapannua eli vaskoolia apuna käyttäen. Samalla kun näet ja koet miten kulta jää hiekan alle vaskoolin pohjalle, kuulet tarinoita ja faktoja kultakentiltä. Lopuksi huuhdontasaalis kerätään talteen ja olet hipun verran rikkaampi! 

Kullanhuuhdonnan alkeet pidetään museon sisähuuhtomolla, joten oppitunti onnistuu säästä riippumatta.
